Madison Marie is 17 Months Old

It is amazing to think that my baby is almost a 18 months old. She is growing up so fast, and is such a character. I think I tell her daily that she is a nut...because she is.

Madison is starting to change from two naps a day to only one. This is a pretty slow transition, and most days she does great, but every now and then she still needs two...or at least her parents need her to.

Madison continues to love books. This week I asked her to choose a book to read before bed...and she brought me "Charlette's Web". Brandon read her two chapters in it last night and she was ready to hear more of it.

Madison loves her baby sister, and Emma adores her big sister. It is so fun to watch them laugh and giggle at each other. I am sure they are both anxious for the day when Emma can get up and join in.

Grammy Tammy refinished the rocking chair that she grew up with and passed it on to Madison. Madi loves having her own chair to sit in. I found a similar chair at a consignment store in town for $12 and Grammy is going to refinish it to match for Emma.

Madison's favorite toy is still a phone. She loves pretending to talk on the phone. A couple of weeks ago Grammy Tammi asked if Madison could come over so that Madi could help find the phone she had lost at Grammy's house. No luck that night, but this past weekend Madi found the phone...in the tuperware capinet.

Madi is really starting to be a daddies girl. She will often choose to go with dad rather than stay with mom. They like going to town together and playing outside. Madison has been joining Daddy and Uncle Brad playing catch with a football...and loves being apart of the action.

Our little girl is quite the show-off. She likes to do the "cheezer" grin (where she scrunches up her nose and closes her eyes) "touchdown" where she raises her hands in the air like a referee, and if you ask her if she is ready for a nap she shakes her head no.

Madison loves riding her car. She will often grab her cell phone and sit on the car like she is driving and talking on the phone. It is adorable.

She is working on her next set of teeth, her last set until her two year molars. I am excited to have a break from teething for a while. Although Emma is not too far away from teething.

Madison, You are a precious little girl and you are the light in my eyes. I love you so very much!
