Golfing Madison Style

This past weekend, my grandparents drove up from Colorado to meet EmmaLea and to help celebrate my aunt Angie's graduation from nail tech school. They brought Madison a set of little kids golf clubs. She has been playing with the golf clubs and the golf balls separately since, but never really showed any interest in putting the two items together. That is until this morning.

Madison was playing in the living room. She found one of the golf balls and carried it to the middle of the living room floor. She then went over and picked up one of the golf clubs, the driver, and brought it to the golf ball. She carefully cleared away the other toys in the way, and then she hit the golf ball with the club. She chased the ball around the living room, hitting it with the driver, for several minutes. After every hit, she would look up at me and give me a huge grin.

I should have gone to get the camera, but I was nursing Emma and didn't want Madi to get distracted when I moved. We will have to try and catch that one on film.

A post from Grammy Tammi

Thursday April 15

Tonight Madi and I went to the library. As part of National Library Week, a jazz septet called CoalTrane played for 90 minutes. (I always thought we had to be quiet in the library, but not tonight!) Madi enjoyed the music. We sat quietly for a couple of numbers, we danced for a couple, we toured the library and checked out the children’s area. On Thursdays they have pajama story time, but we’d already been there over an hour and decided to come home. We did check out a book – a fun rhyming book about dance steps – and we returned one of the books I had checked out for her a week before. As her first experience with live music, and her first experience in the library, Madi seemed enthralled with both. You can bet we’ll be back before long.

Just the 4 of us

Well we have been a family of four for 11 days now. The transition has gone fairly smoothly except for the fact that Madi and I came down with a nasty cold last weekend. I am finally starting to feel like myself although I still have a deep cough. Madi still has a terrible runny nose although her cough seems to have subsided. Hopefully we will both make a full recovery soon.

Emma Lea seems to be a pretty content baby so far. She is a great sleeper and seems to be taking everything in when she is awake. She goes in for her two week check up on Monday. She looks more like Madi every day. I am sure that as they get older they will be mistaken for twins...and when with cousin Aiden, triplets.
Here is Emma now...

Here is Madi when she was about 1 month old...

Quite the resemblance!

Madi loves her baby sister. She always wants to know what is going on and wants to know where Emma is at all times. When getting ready for bed a few nights ago, I put Emma into her crib while I got Madi ready for her bath on the changing table next to Emma's crib. Madi was not happy until she was sitting right next to Emma. It is precious how fast Madison decided to love her sister. I sure hope that lasts.

Here are Daddy's three girls. He is getting ready to leave for a few days to go to his best friend's wedding in Las Vegas. We will miss him greatly while he is gone.

Daddy got some good cuddle time in with his littlest one tonight while Mommy was putting Madi to bed. It was such a cute pose, I couldn't resist getting a couple of pictures.

We received a lot of flowers when Emma was born, they are still in great shape. Here are a few of the arrangements...our counter is covered with flowers.

I also realized I never posted any pictures of Emma's room. It is a work in progress as it is also currently the office. Eventually, the walls will be green and a matching wall paper border will be added. But this will have to wait until we have a new space for Brandon's office. He jokes that his world is being taken over by babies...first his theater room, then the bar, and now his office.

Of course we can't forget about our toddler...Madi is full of energy and is either moving or sleeping. It is getting more challenging to get good pictures of her, as she is more interested in playing with the camera than posing for pictures.

She often looks like she is trying to figure out how to get into mischief. I am afraid that she will be our boundary tester...she will always be trying to figure out how to get away with things. :)

Well I suppose I should get Emma's bath ready so that I can go to bed before too long. I start back to work part time on Thursday, so it is time already to instigate a bed-time routine so that I can get good sleep before having to be at school at 7 am. :)

Pictures of our newest addition

Here are some quick pictures of Emmalea.

Emma and I are both doing well. We are planning on going home this morning. I am sure anxious to see my other baby girl. Due to RSV season, Madison was not able to come back to meet Emma except through the window, so I can't wait for them to meet later today. I will post her birth story later once we get home.

Surprise!

OK I guess I should clarify that we do not have a baby yet...Last weekend my family threw me a surprise baby shower. I had no clue, so that was quite the surprise.

Apparently, it was time to make some jokes about my pending future...My mom and sister built me a plastic covered thrown to sit on inside of a wading pool, just in case my water broke during the shower.

One of our family friends, Samantha, made me this beautiful, lady bug-covered diaper cake.

Sitting in the pool...ha ha very funny.

Opening presents...lots of adorable clothes!

Madison thought she would join in on the fun...she was adorable in the pool full of balloons. She really enjoyed playing with the balloons.

Thank you everyone who participated in the shower! It was a very nice surprise!
