5 Months Old!

Madi turned 5 months old yesterday. She is sitting up without support for significant amounts of time. She has still only rolled over a couple of times, but she gets close to rolling over a lot. Here are her five month pictures.

I have been collecting pictures for posts for the last 2 weeks meaning to post...but, as you can see, I haven't made it to the posting stage yet. So this post should really be titled "a dozen mini posts". :)

My Best Ponytail Yet

When Madi's hair is wet, it is super curly. These beautiful little ringlets cover her head. However, her hair isn't quite long enough to dry curly yet. She also has a major cowlick on the crown of her head. The combination of these two factors can lead to some really bad hair days. So I try and put her hair up in pigtails or in a ponytail when we are having issues. This is her best ponytail yet.

Animal Zoo

Animals have always been a part of Brandon and my childhoods, and our family will always have a few animals running around. Madison loves the animals we have, and giggles at the dogs every day. She loves watching the dogs play fetch. She is getting the idea of petting the dogs and cats down, but she is in the pulling hair phase. The animals have really been awesome and so very patient with her so far.

Cheyenne is 1 year old

Hailey is 5 years old

Salem is 6 years old

And Jack is 2 years old.

Grasshoppers Galore!

Every so often we have a year where the grasshoppers come in clouds. This is one of those years. Anytime we walk outside we are surrounded by a literal cloud of grasshoppers. Here are some pictures of our fence to demonstrate the huge amount of hoppers we have.

John Deere Wyoming Style (AKA: you know you are a redneck when...)

Madison got to ride the John Deere with her Daddy clear to the mailboxes at the highway the other day. She seemed to enjoy the ride and loved looking around at all of the sights along the way.

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Daddy loves Crown Royal whiskey. Apparently Madi already does too.

Daddy's Chair

Madison gets to use her Daddy's high chair when she is eating at her Grammy and Granddad Cone's house. This chair has survived two floods and cleaned up really nicely. Madi seems to like it.

Mommy's Blanket

This blanket has always been very special to me. I was really attached to it as a kid. I don't think I slept without it until I was about 10, and I know I couldn't watch a scary movie without it until I was old enough to start watching the scary movies in the theater. It has been re-sewn three times, and I was the one who fixed it the last time around. I still have few close feelings for this blanket so I had to have some pictures of my baby girl and her mommy's blanket.

I think she really liked it too, she kept grabbing it and putting it up next to her face.

Congratulations Jessica and James!

My best friend Jessica and her husband James gave birth to triplet boys yesterday. I am excited that we have children 5 months apart so that they can grow up together like Jess and I did. You can read up about their story here.

And finally:

Madi's Announcement

Madi has some exciting news to share with everyone.

If you can't read her shirt, it says "Big Sister To Be". Madison will be getting a brother or sister next spring. I am guessing the first week in April, but we don't see the doctor until the end of September. Our lives will defiantly be busy with two babies a year apart, but I think it will be great for them to be so close together.

Wow, surprise and congratulations!! I am glad I kept reading even PAST the grasshopper part. That part almost lost me--I remember those days in Gillette and HATED them. I hate bugs to begin with so swarms of grasshoppers really get me.

Anyway congrats! Fill us in on your exact due date--we might be having babies pretty close together!!!
